We offer a wide range of preparatory German classes on our campus.

Our own language institute – VICTORIA | Academy of Languages – offers German intensive courses which are aimed at an audience who want to progress quickly and effectively.

The specialization of VICTORIA | International University of Applied Sciences in dual study programs in the split-week model is also reflected in our language courses: All intensive courses are geared toward the most effective possible interlinkage of theory teaching and practical applicability. We want you to be able to get by on the street, at the bakery, or in a German government office just as well as at work or in the lecture hall.

It is possible to join the course at any time, even within a level, depending on the level of knowledge. The teaching days are basically dual, i.e. divided into two parts: Theoretical knowledge is taught in the morning, and practical application is practiced in the afternoon. The perfect interlinkage of linguistic theory and practice.

The VICTORIA | Academy of Languages has twenty-two seminar rooms equipped with high-quality teaching technology, creating a contemporary learning environment both online and oncampus. All group courses are hybrid, i.e. designed for a complementary exchange between on|line and on|campus participants.

Virtual participation for your maximum flexibility

Plans change, even by the day – so a spontaneous switch to virtual classes is also permitted to oncampus learners at any time. Symptoms of colds, changes of apartment, departures, and even parties the night before no longer lead to a loss of time. Our online offerings do not replace on campus teaching, they perfectly complement it with modern collaboration and learning tools. Personal, individual contact between teachers and learners is at the heart of every lesson.

Theory and practice at a special price. The perfect combination of lessons for those who want to progress quickly and sustainably. VICTORIA 6×6 principle: A language level is usually completed in only six weeks! After only 36 weeks, participants with no prior knowledge of German are ready to take a German language exam that qualifies them for university study, such as TestDaF or telc C1.

MO-FR, 9:00-12:15 CET, 6-15 people. Levels A1-C1.

Focus on theoretical teaching of productive and receptive language skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, speaking) as well as illustrative grammar teaching. No practice units, attendance of the application-oriented practical course in the afternoon is recommended. Participation on|campus and on|line possible. Flexibility guarantee: Switching between both learning environments is possible at any time.

3. Practice course | 10 teaching hours | on|campus, on|line

MO-FR, 13:00-14:30 CET, 6-15 people. Levels A1-C1.

Focus on practical application and consolidation of previously learned skills. Specific language skills are developed, real-life everyday, professional and university situations are practiced. No systematic explanatory units, attendance of the associated theory course in the morning is recommended. Participation on|campus and on|line possible. Flexibility guarantee: change between both learning environments possible at any time.

4. Evening course | on|campus, on|line

MO and DO, 18:30-20:00 CET, 4-8 people. Levels A1-C1.

The perfect German course in a small agile group for international professionals. Out of the meeting too late? No problem, participation is also possible spontaneously on|line, from the workplace. All language skills are taught, the focus is on everyday situations in the participants’ professional and private lives.

5. Individual lessons | on|campus, on|line, on|spot

Dates by arrangement. A1-C2. Lessons also possible on|spot, i.e., at home or at work or in your favorite café (extra charge 10%). Lessons on weekends (SA|SO) for 15% extra charge. Placement test and final certificate included. Minimum booking 4 lessons (2 x 90 minutes).

Language exams at VICTORIA

You need a certificate of your current German level? We offer a variety of exams as well.

1. TestDaF

German test for the higher levels from B1, required for enrollment at German universities. The TestDaF tests all 4 core competencies (reading, listening, writing, and speaking), whereby a certain result can be achieved in each core competency, which indicates the respective language level. The TestDaF is offered digitally as well as paper based.

2. Telc

Offered for all levels from A1 – C2 (in addition to German, other languages are also possible on request). The telc test checks all 4 core competencies of the respective tested level (reading, listening, writing, and speaking) and can only be taken for one level at a time as well as in a specialized language.

3. VICTORIA Exam

All languages, A1-C2. Applicants to VICTORIA | International University or iba | International University of Cooperative Education can have their B2 or C1 language level (German or English) certified easily, quickly, and at a one-time special price. We guarantee a result within 48 hours of taking the exam.
